It all started during the 2020 Coronavirus lockdown, when a customer purchased a bottle of milk. It grew into a temporary deli-style shop in one of our restaurant rooms. Now we are expanding, creating an all new food hall destination shopping experience.
Our Great Value Packs…. Since lockdown started we have been selling various cook at home packs for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. They range from fresh fish packs to barbecue meat packs.

Deli Counter… We will be stocking continental meats and cheeses along with locally sourced Welsh produce. We are continually seeking new artisan suppliers to expand our ever growing product range.
The Fishmonger… Over the years, Gareth has built up a long standing business relationship with local fish merchant Snowden & Co of Cardiff, and aims to only stock sustainably sourced fish caught in UK waters from small scale British fishing boats landed in Brixham and the West Wales coast.
Gareth or any of our resident chefs will always be on hand to offer advice on preparation, recipes & cooking techniques.
Butchery… Our butchery is at the heart of our business, and you will find a counter bursting with rich juicy meat & poultry! Our team have a wealth of knowledge and expertise that we are eager to pass on to our customers. We were the first in the area to introduce dry-ageing cabinets, which improves the eating quality of the beef , deepening the flavour and enhancing the tenderness and texture.
Greengrocer… We look forward to bringing you a great selection of high quality fruit and vegetables.
The Pantry… An Aladdin’s cave of gastronomical delights! Explore our shelves of ingredients to inspire your inner chef!
For the fridge… We make and package our sauces, including peppery brandy sauce, three cheese sauce and our red wine and garlic sauce. We also stock some oven ready meals.
The restaurant… The once bustling 120 seater restaurant has now become foodhalls and one intimate 34 seater dining area, serving our freshly made chefs choice menu it changes on a daily basis, look out for the chefs shopping in the food hall for your amazing fresh ingredients.
Our other establishments… We also have a small deli outlet located in the idyllic village of Magor where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a small selection of our meats, fish and dry goods.
Our sister restaurant No2 is located in ponthir (opposite Spar petrol station) and serves a meat fest in the gaucho Brazilian style, boasting 9 letting rooms in the hotel it welcomes people from near and afar
Please note,,, the restaurant tables can only be booked online through this website, the OpenTable app and on our Facebook page (“Book Now” button). We do not offer a children’s menu but well behaved children are very welcome and will be given the menu of the day.
